Receiver-In-Canal Hearing Aids

Receiver-In-Canal (RIC)

It is similar to the behind-the-ear hearing aid where the receiver or speaker is directly placed inside the ear canal. It uses thin electrical wires and not plastic acoustical tube and does not use an earmold normally but in some case RIE/RIC moulds can be used.

Important things:-

  • Improves the sound quality and reduces distortion.
  • Mostly used for mild to moderate hearing loss issues.
  • It is comfortable to use with open-fit technology.
  • Reduced case size making it convenient.
